<text>The article presents the study which investigates the digital initiatives at the Public Records Office Victoria (PROV). It highlights the ongoing two large projects of PROV in collaboration with volunteer organizations including one on-site and another one off site. It explores the conceptualization of the projects, the nature of the projects, and the roles of volunteer organizations. It details the agreement entered by PROV with the Genealogical Society of Utah (GSU) in late 2004 to digitize the record series at PROV including wills, probates, and inquests from 1841 to 1925 which will be completed in late 2009. It notes the continuous growth in Internet research for archives that are reaching new audiences across the globe.</text>
